Throughout the research that led to ‘A Weaving Tapestry’ Valentin Bauberger explored various tools and practices in the field of weaving. The vast library of samples contains many pieces that aim to break with the contemporary state of automation and mechanisation, creating hybrid processes allowing the maker to re-approach modern automated tools.
Everyday Companions

Sustaining ones own physical body ranks amongst the most mundane tasks of the everyday, creating the possibility for routines and simple, reoccurring ceremonial moments. ‘Everyday Companions’ is a set of everyday tableware inviting to contemplate these particular moments.
Living Room Tumor

The Living Room Tumour explores the use of various materials and joinery. Creating a series of containers, each based on their own rules and stylistics to later be combined and merged into a larger collective.
Following the principle of emergence, all containers together create a common identity that is more than just the sum of the individuals within.
Casting Ceramics

Using the method of casting clay in porous biscuit fired clay a linear process is achieved in which each step can generate their own offsprings. Small mutations occurring during each step generate individual characteristic rendering every vessel unique whilst keeping their direct relation to one another present.
